What a kitchen renovation costs in the GTA.

Every kitchen is quoted line by line, but homeowners want a number before they call. These are the three tiers most of our Markham and Richmond Hill kitchens fall into, and what actually moves the price between them.

Refresh · $45,000–$60,000

Same footprint, new everything you touch: cabinetry, countertops, backsplash, sink and taps, lighting, and paint. Appliances stay where they are. Usually 4–5 weeks.

Full rebuild · $60,000–$85,000

A new layout inside the existing walls — island added, plumbing and electrical relocated, new flooring carried through, appliance package refitted. Usually 5–7 weeks.

Open-concept · $85,000–$110,000+

A wall comes out, with the structural work and custom millwork that goes with it, plus integrated appliances. Usually 7–8 weeks.

Cabinetry is the single biggest line — semi-custom runs roughly 30–40% less than full custom for the same footprint. After that it's stone selection, whether plumbing moves, and whether anything structural is involved.

How much does a kitchen renovation cost in Markham?

Most of our Markham and Richmond Hill kitchens land between $45,000 and $110,000. A refresh in the same footprint sits at the low end; taking out a wall for an open-concept layout sits at the top. You get a fixed, line-by-line number before anything is torn out.

How long will I be without a kitchen?

Four to eight weeks from demolition to final walkthrough, depending on scope. We set up a temporary prep area with your fridge, microwave, and sink access on day one, and we sequence cabinetry and countertop template dates so there is no dead time waiting on stone.

Do you help with design and material selection?

Yes, and it is included. We work through layout options with you first, then cabinetry, counter, tile, and hardware selections together, so the quote reflects choices you have actually seen and touched rather than allowances that move later.

What is the difference between custom and semi-custom cabinetry?

Semi-custom comes from a manufacturer's box sizes with your choice of door, finish, and hardware, and runs roughly 30–40% less. Custom is built to your exact dimensions, which is what you want for an awkward wall, a full-height pantry run, or an unusual ceiling height. We quote both so you can see the difference in your own kitchen.

Can you work with my existing layout?

Yes, and it is often the right call. If the plumbing, gas, and traffic flow already work, keeping the footprint puts your budget into cabinetry, stone, and lighting instead of into relocating services behind the walls.
